How to claim your school on Skoolist in 5 minutes

If you work at a school listed on Skoolist and want to update contacts, photos, pricing, and reply to information requests from families, you first need to claim the profile. It takes five minutes.

What claiming means

Claiming links your user account to the public school profile. After that, you have access to the school dashboard, where you can:

• Update contacts, description, photos, and pricing
• Receive and answer information requests from families
• See statistics (views, favourites, requests)
• Display a "Verified" badge to parents

Without claiming, the profile remains public but is based on data we crawl from official sources — it may be out of date.

Step 1: Find your school

Go to skoolist.pt/claim and type the school name. If your school already exists in our database, it appears in the list. If not, email us at [email protected] and we'll add it.

Once found, click Claim.

Step 2: Sign up or log in

If you don't have a Skoolist account, register with email + password. We use your email only to verify the claim.

Step 3: Complete the form

In the claim form, provide:

• Full name — who is claiming
• Role — director, administrator, teacher, or owner
• Email — preferably from the school's domain (@schoolname.com). If so, the claim is auto-approved.
• Verification method — email (faster) or document

Email verification (recommended)

If your email is on the same domain as the school's website, we approve instantly. Example: if the school's site is futureschool.pt and you register with [email protected], it's all done in seconds.

Document verification

If you don't have a domain email (common at smaller schools), upload a document that proves your role: school letterhead, contract, or principal's declaration. Our team reviews within 24-48 hours.

Step 4: Confirm the email

You'll get a verification link by email. Click to confirm. If it doesn't arrive, check spam.

Step 5: Access the dashboard

Once approved, you'll receive a confirmation email and the dashboard becomes available at skoolist.pt/school-dashboard.

The first time you log in you'll see:

• A checklist with sections to complete (logo, contacts, pedagogy, pricing, photos)
• Real profile statistics
• Pending information requests (if any)

What if something goes wrong?

• Didn't get the verification email: check spam, or request a resend on the verification page.
• The school is already claimed by someone else: contact us at [email protected] with proof of your role. If there's a dispute, we talk to both parties before transferring.
• Wrong data on the school profile: even before claiming, you can report corrections via the form on each public profile.

What's next?

Right after approval, the next step is to complete the profile. Each finished section improves visibility in search results — profiles with photos tend to draw more attention than text-only profiles.
